Buyers of the operating record
Who buys enterprise data for AI, and on what terms
Updated
The organisations asking for enterprise data are mostly data labs and brokers that license it on to model builders, and each describes a different front door.
Ask about my company's record 4 of the 8 vendors we read leave title to the data with the customer. Tell us which systems hold yours and what stage the company is at, and a person will reply about your own case.
What they ask for
Appen asks for the workflows and operational know-how a company runs on, Centific for records showing how employees make decisions and handle exceptions across applications, and Polyshares for the whole working record, from Slack and SharePoint to CRM history and ERP exports.

Who says the company keeps ownership
Appen writes that the company keeps ownership, micro1 that companies retain ownership of their underlying data, Troveo that ownership never transfers, Polyshares that the company keeps ownership of the underlying data, and Maryah that licensing grants rights to use the data, not ownership. The remaining pages we read leave ownership unaddressed, which is a point to settle in the licence rather than assume.

Anonymising before anything moves
Nearly every page describes removing identifying details first: Troveo scrubs names, contact details and client identities to one documented standard, Grepped strips customer names before anything leaves processing, and Mercor says no buyer ever sees the raw data.
